Submit your support for the M74 West Renewable Energy

We are pleased to announce M74 West Limited has submitted an application for consent under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct the M74 West Renewable Energy Park. The application is being administered by the Energy Consents Unit of the Scottish Government (ECU). The ECU is currently running a consultation on the application.

By submitting a letter of support to the ECU, you can make sure your voice is heard.

If approved, this project will:  

• Play a major role in Scotland’s energy transition;  
• Represent a significant investment in the local area;  
• Deliver a generous Community Benefit Fund for projects in the local area;  
• Provide opportunities for local businesses including (for instance) accommodation providers, suppliers, and tradesmen / civil contractors throughout construction and operation;  
• Generate enough electricity to power over 170,000 homes.
